OeWF Analog Mission Introductory Training<\/strong> (AMIT \/ virtual)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new Analog Mission Introductory Training Course (AMIT) of the Austrian Space Forum is designed to provide Mission Support Center and field volunteers with foundational knowledge of the OeWF structure and analog simulations, preparing them for more in-depth practical training.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop offers an overview of Mars analog missions, focusing on tasks, workflows, communication, and roles within the Mission Support Center (MSC) and field operations. Graduates will be prepared to participate in the in-person Analog Mission Basic Training (AMBT), where they will apply this knowledge during a full weekend of hands-on experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AMIT course is a self-paced e-learning program that participants can complete at any time. It includes recorded lectures introducing the concept of analog missions within the OeWF and concludes with a final exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, participants will spend approximately 5 hours on this course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Analog Mission Basic Training Course (AMBT) of the Austrian Space Forum is designed to train Mission Support Center and field crew volunteers for upcoming Mars simulations. It focuses on team building, communication exercises, and simulation scenarios in which participants apply the knowledge acquired during the AMIT course.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop provides a solid theoretical refresher on key elements of OeWF analog missions, reinforced by hands-on training based on past missions. Participants rely on their knowledge, teamwork, and communication skills to navigate simulated scenarios and become more familiar with OeWF hardware, such as the Aouda spacesuit simulator. By the end of the training, they will be able to respond effectively to the diverse challenges of future Mars analog simulations at the MSC or in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an in-person training course consisting of brief lectures, hands-on exercises, and familiarization with the IT infrastructure, culminating in a small conceptual simulation. The AMBT course concludes with an on-site final exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Successful participants are awarded a certificate that qualifies them to join a specific team and begin further mission-specific training for upcoming simulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements: <\/strong>Successful completion of an AMIT training within the last 6 months, a one-page CV, and a one-minute video introducing yourself and your motivation for joining the OeWF\/AMBT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Costs: <\/strong>Accommodation and food are self-funded. Course fee:<\/strong> EUR 100 \/ EUR 40 for students; free of charge for OeWF members.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
