Over the last weeks the \u201cpre-CDR\u2019s\u201d (preliminary Critical Design Reviews) took place in our partner schools. The teams presented their detailed concepts & prototypes for the Serenity spacesuit to the OeWF team leads and had to answer critical questions. This is an important milestone within the spacesuit project, as subsequent, the implementation of the soft- and hardware can begin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"CDR<\/a>

CDR at the HTL Braunau<\/p><\/div>\n

Team Braunau<\/h3>\n

Several teams at the \u201eHTL Braunau\u201c (technical high school) \u00a0are involved with the Serenity spacesuit: in team \u201ePower Management\u201c, Magdalena Schaber and Sarah Schinwald presented u.a. the selected components for the power subsystem.<\/p>\n

“We heard from the school about this unique opportunity to work with the OeWF in a space project. From the beginning we were very excited and accepted the challenge so we entered the project group. We hope for a good cooperation within the project team,\u00a0 exciting tasks and in the end a great result for all systems”<\/em> report both students<\/p>\n

The high school students Dominik Bruckner and Lukas Tobisch are occupied with a subtask for the \u00a0TCS (Thermal Control System) and presented their concept for the ventilation system.<\/p>\n

Team Ferrarischule Innsbruck<\/h3>\n

The high school students from the \u201cFerrarischule\u201d (high school for economy & fashion) can show their competences with the selection of textiles materials for the Serenity spacesuit. Besides material selection for the outer hull also topics like undergarment, gloves and shoes are part of their work package.<\/p>\n

Team Anichstra\u00dfe<\/h3>\n

The high school students from the \u201eHTL Anichstra\u00dfe Innsbruck\u201c (technical high school) are involved in following subsystems: helmet \u00a0and suit-port (suit port is the external docking part for the Serenity spacesuit).<\/p>\n

Team HTL Fulpmes<\/h3>\n

In this technical high school the high school students Patrick Guglberger and \u00a0Maximilian Guggenbichler are working on the new HUT (Hard Upper Torso) for the Serenity spacesuit. The first CAD models were presented during the pre-CDR.<\/p>\n

The OeWF team leads were impressed by the professional planning & presenting of the students.\u00a0 A teacher from the HTL Anichstra\u00dfe summarizes: “The students acquire competences, which can be hardly communicated through regular lessons: true international cooperation, the experience, how to rely on distributed development teams and the know-how in a different special field. \u2013 A really great project” <\/em><\/p>\n
