Katja Zanella-Kux is from Switzerland and\u00a0currently lives in Schwaz, Tyrol. During\u00a0MARS2013 she accompanies the field\u00a0crew as part of the media team in Morocco\u00a0to capture stunning moments during the\u00a0simulation.<\/p>\n

Space & MARS2013<\/h2>\n

How did you first get in touch with the topic of space \/ astronomy \/ analog research?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Star Trek.<\/em><\/p>\n

When did you first hear about the Austrian Space Forum (OeWF)<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was visiting a planetarium in Schwaz and\u00a0Gernot Gr\u00f6mer was advisor in one of the\u00a0shows.<\/em><\/p>\n

How did you learn about the \u201cMARS2013\u201d mission?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I already accompanied the OeWF with\u00a0camera during the Kaunertaler Glacier field\u00a0simulation. After the Rio Tinto mission in\u00a02011 it was pretty obvious that MARS2013\u00a0would be the next mission.<\/em><\/p>\n

Why did you choose to participate?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am a passionate photographer and it is a\u00a0fantastic experience for me to be in Morocco.\u00a0I am always looking for new ideas – it is the\u00a0perfect fit for me: photography in challenging\u00a0and extreme situations.<\/em><\/p>\n

What was your first impression when you got involved with the OeWF team?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The OeWF is a very open minded, happy\u00a0and very curious bunch.<\/em><\/p>\n

What is your personal goal in this mission?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Photography in a different location \u2013 four\u00a0weeks in the desert. I just want to capture\u00a0great moments and collaborate with the team\u00a0members on the project.<\/em><\/p>\n

What I do for a living:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A typical day in my life looks like this:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the morning I’m in the studio; in the\u00a0afternoon on the go for meetings and on\u00a0locations.<\/em><\/p>\n

This is how I spend my spare time:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I travel a lot, visit family in Switzerland, and\u00a0friends everywhere. In addition, I pursue\u00a0photography projects that I don\u2019t \u00a0get covered\u00a0during the week.<\/em><\/p>\n

Photography during the Berlinale, a party\u00a0with Antonio Banderas, a shoot with George\u00a0Clooney.<\/em><\/p>\n

Something I would love to learn or to achieve:<\/strong><\/p>\n

When I am 60 or 70 I want to happily\u00a0look back on my life and having the sense everything was good the way it was.<\/em><\/p>\n
