{"id":6660,"date":"2014-08-29T20:49:39","date_gmt":"2014-08-29T18:49:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oewf.org\/?p=6660"},"modified":"2018-08-24T13:58:04","modified_gmt":"2018-08-24T11:58:04","slug":"tiuterra-flight-three-crystals-for-the-space-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oewf.org\/en\/2014\/08\/tiuterra-flight-three-crystals-for-the-space-station\/","title":{"rendered":"Tiuterra Flight: Three crystals for the Space Station."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In cooperation with the World Space Week Association and Swarovski, the Austrian Space Forum initiated the Tiuterra project: Rock samples from all over the world were colected including specimen from Antarctica and the bottom of the sea floor during a diving expedition, on the occasion of the 2013 World Space Week. These were than analysed and -combined with a tiny part of a Mars meteorite than mixed into a master sample. Swarovski took on the challange of creating a piece of beauty out of those, the &#8220;Tiuterra Crystal&#8221;. Three of them are scheduled to fly to the International Space Station in November for the Expedition 42\/43 of Samantha Cristoforetti.
