The second MarsTweetup took place on Saturday, 5th October 2013, at the MCC in Innsbruck. More than a dozen of Social Media Users participated for this interesting event during the World Space Week 2013.

In the morning Olivia Haider from the ÖWF, Anita Heward from Europlanet and Remco Timmermans from the World Space Week welcomed the guests, followed by a presentation by ÖWF president Gernot Grömer about the Mars2013 Mission in Morocco and an overview of the work of the ÖWF.

After a guided tour through the Mission Control Center Daniel Schildhammer presented the Aouda.X spacesuit simulator and together with his colleague Christoph Gautsch he answered questions from the Tweeps.

Over the day we had Hangouts to scientists and engineers from Spain, Poland and Hungary. We got to know the Puli Rover, the University Rover Challenge, Google Lunar X Prize and finally we had a live connection to the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in Utah.
