2014
We have been busy, so busy, we did not even find the time to write a report about our progress last week. So here comes the update of the last fortnight.
First of all we would like to congratulate Taylor for her successfully accomplished mission. She proudly submitted her theses for the Kings College Master’s program on space physiology.
We are also happy to report that some progress in Upper Austria has been done. The team in charge for the helmet redesign did some fantastic work. They decided on the ring and lock design. Too, the CAD drawings are just about to be finished.
Also new outer layers for both Aouda’s are produced by the taylor “Das tapferste Schneiderlein”. Therefore we needed to finish the first PLSS (Personal Life Support System) casing, which has been done last week. By now the second one is done and waiting for us to join it all together. This will be rather easy since we already agreed on the locations of all the components inside.
A new project we started is, building two flight cases, which will be used for transporting the Aouda suits.
Another one is the chest pack, it will be completely redone. Researches have been done and we do have a very lovely mockup.
Beside that the power boxes for the WiFi have been changed, Benjamin Knaus did some research and brainstorming on a new exoskeleton and there were a lot of telecons and meetings conducted, especially for the software including the helmet display and EddY NG development.
Sad news for the team, we had to say ‘good bye’ to Taylor, Andrew, Michael and Alexander.
We would like to thank them once more for their fantastic work and all the great memories we share.
