- About the OeWF
Hello to every space passionate, my name is Nathanaël, and I am a French engineering
student. I’ve always wanted to work in the Aerospace field, so this internship in the OeWF
that I started in May is a dream experience. I get to know about the ins and outs of the life of a
space engineer, and I have the chance to work with extremely friendly and interesting people.
Those first weeks were an occasion for me to learn about things I’ve never really came across
in my academic life, but it was also a preview of what I could do with all the knowledge I
accumulated so far when I tried to solve problems and find solutions.
Something great about the OeWF is that we try to help each other as much as we can, seeking
for advice both ways, which is a great way to learn while not being hindered by every small
wall we encounter.
It is interesting to seek for solutions and results, but I think encountering new problems and
trying to troubleshoot them as much as we can is also one of the main sources of
improvement. And because we are few people working in the office at the same time,
everyone needs to be polyvalent and have a broad knowledge in their respective projects.
What I learned so far is, how to model parts, both for a miniature version of the satellite and
for an engineering model meant for tests of the ADLER-2 cubesat. I needed to find solutions,
glue, paint, cut, use my brain and my hands to make the projects go forward.
I hope I can get a get a bike soon so I can explore the surroundings of Innsbruck and see the
city from above, in the mountains. I am excited and hopeful for this internship that will last 3
more months, and I know I will learn a lot of useful skills and knowledge during my stay in
