2014
SpaceUp is like a BarCamp an Unconference. That means there is no schedule, no program beforehand. Participants decide about the topics, the schedule and the structure of the event. A SpaceUp means also that this Unconference focus on the topic space exploration.
The first SpaceUp took place in San Diego Air & Space Museum on February 27-28, 2010. After several successful SpaceUp Conferences in the US, the SpaceUp concept crossed the Atlantic and the first SpaceUp “SpaceUpEU” took place on 22 & 23 September 2012 in Genk, Belgium and inspired others to organise SpaceUp Conference in Europe. So in 2014 the SpaceUp concept also came to Austria and on 12th, April 2014 SpaceUp Vienna was held at the Technical Museum in Vienna. The organisation team representing Der-Orion, Austrian Space Forum (OeWF) and Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) did an excellent job bringing the SpaceUp spirit to Vienna and spreading the ideas of space exploration.
As many of the SpaceUp Vienna participants use Social Media during the conference, I thought that the participants should tell their impressions about the SpaceUpVienna themselves and created a story on Storify:
